I guess if there's no Covid threat, no one needs Covid money
The U.S. has spent more than half of $3 trillion in economic rescue funds passed by Congress -- with little of the oversight intended to ensure the money goes to the right places.

Three new oversight bodies are barely functional: A special inspector general was only recently sworn in, a congressional panel still lacks a chairman and staff, and President Donald Trump quickly removed the official who was going to lead a separate accountability committee.

At the same time, about $2 trillion in stimulus money has already been distributed, according to an estimate from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan group focused on fiscal policy.

Looks like Trump is ripping off the taxpayer again. Who would have predicted that?

The key takeaway is "NO OVERSITE". I'm not a Trump guy but on a state level, where you and I should really be worried, the money is just walking out the door unchecked....we need to hold our local leaders accountable as well - maybe even moreso!

@Ynotisay I just dread when all this reaches some kind of zero hour - all the bills come due, the dollar crashes, etc. Again, I hate to be "the sky is falling" but it's just scary!

@luctoretemergo If nothing else has been learned from this I sure hope it's how precarious our economy and, moreover, our democracy really is.

@Ynotisay Well said!.....I may steal that quote!
