@SimplyTracie check it out, Lyndon Johnson, JFK, FDR, and several more presidents all used the military to quell rioting. Some even used the military to force strikers back to work!

@fanuc2013 Nope, the state governments used the National Guard. And when the state refused to do so the POTUS during the time, as in during the civil rights movements in the south) activated those state's National Guards.

It is against the law (federal law) for the U.S. Military to be deployed on U.S. soil. For any reason other than to protect the U.S. from an armed foreign invasion.

If I had the authority, I’d make it a prerequisite for POTUS to have served. Put on a uniform, even in the National Guard. Just serve if you wanna be Commander In Chief.

The only other instance where it can be applied is if there is an armed insurrection against the Federal government (which kind gives rise to that old tree of Liberty," bullshit Jefferson talked about, doesn't it?)

You Milita (National Guard) is what is called in to suppress "violent," civil unrests.

In fact, he (esper,) said just this very day that he is against trumpy using the Inssuerction Act to address (suppress) the "Demonstrators."

@masaca Has Trump issued a proclamation ordering the insurgents to immediately disperse. He has to do that before letting the military loose against the demonstrators. I wonder if he knows that. 🤔

@fanuc2013 and if anyone thinks the next president will not do the same, that is completely unrealistic. Humans have been in conflict since the beginning of time! I wish it didn't have to be, and we have to be prepared to defend our way of life at any moment.

@SimplyTracie of course they're all not terrorists! It's just a small minority, but that small group is causing a lot of harm! Every person, from the president on down has repeatedly said that peaceful protesters have every right to express their views and present their grievances, but the few that are concealing themselves in the peaceful protesters ranks, and causing harm to others at the first opportunity are the problem!
