Trump To Overrule Governors, Yet Again

Sort of....

Trump announced Friday that he was designating churches, synagogues and mosques as “essential places that provide essential services” as the nation continues to combat the coronavirus, despite lacking legal power over state governance.

“Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential, but have left out houses of worship. It’s not right,” Trump said. “So I’m correcting this injustice by calling houses of worship essential.”

“If they don’t do it, I will override the governors,” the president threatened.

Not clear what Constitutional authority he will assert, to make Governors do it, but "saying" it, is all he seems to need, to secure the Evangelical vote, and I say that because no non-Orthodox Jewish votes or Muslim votes, not controlled by the Saudis, will be going his way.

My governor has been making exceptions for a certain religion. At least they’ll be legal now.

@Keepitsimple As in letting them hold in person services?

No but everything he talks about centers around them and he opens and shuts down things according to their religious belief. @Northwest

@Keepitsimple In a handful of states, it seems as if life revolves around Catholic holidays/traditions, never mind it's mostly for show.

@Northwest Its not the Catholics here, that’s all I’ll say 😉
