Abortion = Convenience minus the 1% that truly need it.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Where did you get 1% from
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: look at government websites and see what they have to say about it.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Ok but I was asking where the 1% came from?
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: the actually less than 1% (I know 1% is high but close enough.) that are victim of rape or have health problems that threaten the ladies life.

Define "need."
Reverend · M
@Oconnor: I use "need" very loosely. And it's defined in my latter response
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Here's a list I found in two seconds of searching for why women needed to get an abortion. Looks like about 100% needed it.[image deleted]
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: ok then you agree with my first response then right? Abortion = Convenience?
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
No I don't.
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: no ready for a relationship.. not financially stable.. it would change her life too much etc. Aboring a child for any of those are not for convenience? Please explain
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
You're minimizing the issue by calling convenient. Sorry but aborting a child because you cannot afford to care for it or yourself isn't something I would consider to be convenient,
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: I'm actually just looking at the issue exactly as it says. So because someone doesn't want to work to take care of something that is bone and flesh of themselves isn't for a convenience reason?
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Where does it say convenience then?
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: I would assume any human being could see it as a convenience.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Assume all you want.
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: why is it that if someone chooses to abort a child for convenience it's ok, but if that same woman were to get pregnant, wanting to keep the child and they were to get hit in the stomach or they lost the child because of someone else, the person at fault gets charged? I mean it wasn't born yet. Isn't it not a child to those for abortion as long as the child is still in the womb?
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
This goes back to the convenience thing, that you said you assume everyone agrees with. And I'm pretty sure that you cannot assault someone even if they're pregnant, how strange I know.
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: your right, they shouldn't be assaulted no matter what. My question is. Why is it if the lady doesn't want the baby it's just a fetus, but if she wants it it's her child that has been killed or taken from her. Sounds like a double standard doesn't it?
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Well that depends, is it the same lady?
Reverend · M
@Flenflyys: yes. the same person.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Can I have a link to read the story, I don't fully understand.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Like does she want the baby or not, she was assaulted and then had an abortion?
SW-User
@KingJamesOnly: You present an interesting question. I think the answer lies in the fact that a woman's body is her own. If she chooses to terminate a pregnancy, that is her prerogative; if the choice is taken from her, that violates her right to choose and is therefore a crime.

If I want a tattoo to permanently alter by body, that's my choice; if someone holds me downs and mars my skin, that's assault. It's about choice.

You can call it convenience, and I see your side of the argument, but the alternative of raising a child without necessary means, resources and opportunities creates extraordinary financial and social burden. It's not a matter of convenience to many that a child is saved from a life of possible poverty, neglect or violence.

We have more than 7 billion people on this rock; are you really campaigning for more?
Reverend · M
@Oconnor: I'm campaigning to give a child life, while aborting the pedophiles and murderers from among us.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
So does the pedophile have to have committed an offence or simply being a pedophile warrants execution?
