Most foreign news services get their info from NBC. It's not surprising because that's all they actually see or get exposed to.

That and wackjob liberals on the internet

@Callmewhatyouwill His tweets are not filtered by the media...
@Elessar his tweets are 90% trolling American Democrats.

I may be an outsider on this but I've never had a Twitter so stupid little 180 character posts seem meaningless to me

@Callmewhatyouwill Objectively speaking, I doubt. And even in that case, he's in charge to represent his country, also internationally, which is serious matter. It's not, you know, a TV show.
@Elessar that really is the misunderstanding most people have about the office of the president.

He's not a ruler, or even than a figurehead in international stuff.

As far as in the US, it's easier to understand that were set up as a republic of nation states to form a single country. That said some of that has changed however each state still maintains a certain level of autonomy separate from the federal govt. Which is why for example, there was no national lockdown in the US. Simply put it violates our constitution to do so.

On am international level, the state department, though falling under the executive branch is the real international representative of the US, and they just follow his particular international policy. With some restrictions from both congress and the Senate.

As far as his stupid ass remarks on Twitter, it just that, stupid. But I think Twitter is stupid and can't understand why anyone older than 18 even uses it. Literally everything he posts on Twitter is quickly blown up and talked about endlessly by the US press (also known as the Democrat propoganda wing ) mostly for his own amusement.

Is that last part mature, no, but also it's not a deal breaker for me.

@Callmewhatyouwill 'Most foreign news services get their info from NBC.' ..... and you have proof of this ?

Did it ever occur to you that they have correspondents and dedicated newsdesks in the US ?
@RodionRomanovitch I'm sure they do, but when I see articles posted here or elsewhere from country of your choice news and it's a direct copy and paste with. Different byline from n nbc or ABC news story from 30 min prior.. well you know

@Callmewhatyouwill He participates to international meetings with other heads of states, in which he represents his country/federation as a whole, tho. Even Putin represents a federation, and is seen as an international figure. Even presidents before Trump, for that matter. And regardless, it sounds still dumb, dangerous and useless af to me having a public figure paid with public money tweeting like a teenager, and potentially risking international conflicts by doing so. No matter what the target audience is, it's still and is still interpreted as what comes out from his mouth (/fingers, lol).
