What do you think about people being so nasty to each other because of political opinions?

I think it's just so ugly and pathetic to see people be so hateful and genuinely wish harm on others just because they have a different opinion about politics. It's ugly how every election for the new POTUS is like the civil war all over again.

This is a first for me, and I’ve voted in every U.S. presidential election since 1980. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen supporters of the president as enemies. Mainly because this president has been regularly holding rallies and telling his supporters that the rest of us are enemies of the country. I don’t harass them and I’m not particularly nasty to them. I actually tend to avoid them. They can’t justify supporting a president who is an avowed racist and misogynist, unless they agree with his point of view. And since I imagine they must, I don’t want to hear about it. And I make no apologies for feeling that way. 🙁
