Have You Completed Your Census Yet?

I did.
I did it online.
It took a few minutes.

I remember the big stink the left was making about the censsus earlier.
It's racist.
It's an invasion of privacy.
It's unnecessary.
It's xenophobic.
It's genderphobic.
Orange man bad.

I didn't see any of that.

Did you find the census to be the least bit offensive>

I don’t remember anyone saying any of those things.

The sole objection was to adding the question of citizenship, which likely would have resulted in an undercount.

Weird when you think of it. Trump makes all sorts of broad claims about how many so-called illegals there are, but adding that question would have likely made it more difficult to support that claim.

So, yeah.

Got anything else?

Of course you don't remember!
YOU are not supposed to remember that.
I bet you remember the dates trump shut off travel from Canada though - and when the first case of coroa was reported.

Looking at responses to this post - it looks like there will be an undercount anyway.

Broad claims of illegals?

Let's see, Obama deported 1.2 million illegals.
Do you think he got 'em all?
In August 2018, USCIS estimated there were 699,350 active DACA recipients residing in the United States. Immigration researchers estimate the population to be between 690,000 and 800,000 people.

How did they get here? Evolved from muddy puddles?

How many illegals are OK in your view?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Budwick We can start another conversation elsewhere if you wish.

The term “illegal” is problematic to begin with because many of these folks end up being very productive taxpayers who love the US. I would rather have millions of folks like that than millions of other shitbags who bash the country and lift zero fingers to make it better.

If you want to have a rational conversation about a batter way to manage immigration, let me know.

But let’s not talk about it here. I know you hate when comment threads go off topic.
@Budwick Curious thing though. Funny how the right is not worried about securing the Canadian border. And it is not white European immigrants being made to show their papers. It is all about scapegoating a very specific community.
@Budwick There is also the literally global inconvenient fact the majority of crime in any country is usually native born citizens.

When you noted that - did you consider that native born citizens liklely far outnumber illegal immigrants?

Really? You are stymied by that?
We haven't been inundated with hundreds of thousands of illegal Canadians, so ...
@Budwick Funny because that completely blows up your other arguments about "illegals". But no it still holds even when you adjust for the difference in overall numbers but nice try. Another cool fact that holds true the world over is immigration tends to reduce crime in neighborhoods.
@Budwick Ah yes. The magical caravans.
@Budwick Too bad the actual data shows a net loss of immigration along the Mexican border. Those pesky facts.

@Budwick pretty much from 20088 to 2014 more were leaving. The most recent numbers suggest it is about net zero. Either way a non issue by definition.

So from your in depth, exhaustive research regarding illegal populations along the Mexican border, did you happen to find anything pertaining to the rest of the country?
@Budwick As opposed to your " If it was on Fox and Friends it must be true regardless of the facts".
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow No, I was asking about what you found.
@Budwick That was a pretty nebulous question. I told you the relevant bits. Not sure how random trivia comes in.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I think population near the border it the trivia. Numbers of illegals in the country seems far more relevant. And there are millions.
@Budwick So now you want to go play the unverified anecdote game and claim it trumps facts?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Games?
population 'along the border' is legit though.

Say something relevant next time or say nothing.
@Budwick You are trying to equate anecdotes with facts and statistics because you can't support your claims with anything but second and third hand border tales.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Documented estimates of illegals have been been available for decades. No anecdotes.

The total US undocumented population was 10.6 million in 2018. cmsny.org

Estimates of the number of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. range from 10.5 million to 12 million, or approximately 3.2%–3.6% of the population Brookings.edu

the estimated 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States migrationpolicy.org

net loss of immigration along the Mexican Pictures of Tomorrow
@Budwick Funny how all of that is from after 2014 when I said it has increased to net zero. Your cherry picking doesn't disprove that. Net zero by definition is not a problem.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow As of 2019, FAIR estimates that there are approximately 14.3 million illegal aliens residing within the United States. This number is notably higher than FAIR’s previous estimate of 12.5 million in 2017.

@Budwick lol. WOW. Nice own goal.

You are seriously using a front organization founded by a white nationalist as a primary source?
@Budwick Plus the founder is a big Planned Parenthood supporter. Nice ideological consistency. Lol

Well, I know what a fan of infanticide you are. I thought you might appreciate facts from a source you trust to demolish your argument.
