@Badger Colony I am so sick of comments like yours. This romanticism you and your ilk have for the past is so woefully ill informed and the Rose colored glasses you look at th past through with a sense of Nostalgia are truly astonishing. I don't have a sense of Romanticism towards the past because my life didn't begin to improve before 1997 or so when the internet was invented. You all talk about how men were masculine back then as if it's something we've lost. Not even as far back as 1920 most of us were only masculine because the economy pretty much required us to Work the fields from just before dawn until dusk. The reason men are "Feminizing" from your vantage point even though it's not TRULY feminizing just to get fat is that modern technology enables most of us to live a relatively comfortable life without having to exert ourselves too hard. And all people of your ilk can do is look at the past of Gender norms through Rose colored glasses.
The Economy may still need Blue Collar workers and Manual Laborers but our fields are now tilled by gigantic farm industrial machines either automatically or manually DRIVEN by the farmers, Manual labor isn't completely gone even in institutions of higher learning god knows my College's bookstore needed people able to lift 50 pounds to move boxes of books around but the rub is that Manual labor no longer pays like it used to and never will again so of course a sedentary lifestyle has set in for many of us.
Our intelligence is now of far more value than our muscle power. Nothing is going to reverse that Trend and to be blunt it's an inherently good thing.
