Trump's Next Vice President Could Be... Joe Biden.

If Biden wins the election, Pence should resign and Trump should nominate Biden to become vice president.

Once Biden is confirmed by both the Senate and the House, Trump should then resign the presidency. That would allow Biden to nominate his running mate to become vice president and, once she is confirmed as vice president, that will allow Biden's team to begin work immediately. Trump's cabinet could stay on until new members are confirmed by the Senate (Biden could also put in acting secretaries).

When FDR took office, it wasn't until March 1933. Later, the inaugural was moved up to January 20th.

But in these times of crisis when a president-elect pretty much has a good idea of who his/her cabinet will be within weeks of being elected (if not earlier), there is no reason for a two and a half month transition period.

@beckyromero I just thought she might bring the Sanders voters in

@JoePourMan

What will bring the Sanders voters in is more mail-in ballots.

This will be a campaign like none other in history. No big rallies. Perhaps not even party conventions (perhaps a virtual one).

But if independents swing to Biden, it really won't matter too much what disgruntled Sanders voters do. Some are bound to not vote at all, which is their right.
