Economists pan Pelosi’s proposal to lift cap on state and local tax deductions in next bailout

Pelosi’s plan would her her at least $200K per year and does nothing for people earning less than $200K. I could be wrong but aren’t stimulus plans supposed to help workers not Congress?

you dont need to be making 200k. the cap on SALT hurt property owners in NY and California the most. if not supporting pelosi, then theres no one to support workers in any way because the republicans for sure will do nothing
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Please explain what that remotely has to do with a COVID-19 stimulus package. Clearly another overreaching boondoggle by Mrs Pelosi like the Kennedy Center. If that s so important to her why didn’t she write a check to the Kennedy center and why are they firing the usicians and using it to pay upper management? @Zaxel

@jackjjackson these are all the wrong things to focus on
@jackjjackson Hilarious. You’re upset about that, but couldn’t care less about Mnuchin’s half-trillion slush fund. Just partisan bullshit.

@LeopoldBloom if people stopped treating politics as if it was a sports game where they cheer for team blue or red, we'd have so many less problems
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Tell that to Mrs Pelosi. @Zaxel
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Not included in the final bill signed into law. You really should research prior to commenting to avoid future bad looks like this one. @LeopoldBloom
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Tell that one to Mrs Pelosi too. Before she stuck her snout into things following a weeks vacation only things related to CPVID-19 and workers and the economy were in the bill. All her nonsense was removed except the Kennedy Center and the process in under way to remove that. She is trying the same nonsense with the next bill which won’t happen and she will be vilified even by Dems that care about the people of the US (unlike the like of you). @Zaxel

@jackjjackson and the Kennedy center went and donated a huge Sum to the DNC . ( money laundering? Kick backs?) Trump in turn appointed 3 conservative entertainers to the board of directors of the Kennedy center .
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson @TexChik in my view, these are all the wrong things to be focused on. i couldnt care less about side-piece dealings, whats actually being done to help as the main asks? Im certain the republicans are taking a fundamentally wrong approach to these issues and that if pelosi didnt fight the way she did, we'd have alot of royally screwed over people.
Focusing on things like that only shows the extent of your partisanship
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The only thing Pelosi got was delay and the money to the Kennedy center who in turn screwed the working musicians. Try some research prior to writing nonsense.

@Zaxel
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson if youre concerned with delays, what about the weekend the senators took before reviewing the bill they needed to do? resorting to insults also shows what youre all about. this isnt a sports game, this is real life
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Unlike the Dems the republicans read bills prior to voting. @Zaxel
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson ive worked in politics before, i guarantee you that 95% of these people didnt read more than 20 pages. they had their assistants work up a summary and that was it. lets pretend they did read it, it doesnt change that their fundamental policy beliefs would have harmed so many if it had gone through. i dont identify with either party so youre aware where i stand too.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Yeah sure 🙄 @Zaxel
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@jackjjackson you should try to understand as much as possible instead of resorting to partisanship
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Neither Republicans nor Democrats really read these bills. And that’s mostly ok - they are written by lawyers for lawyers.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Not me bud. I pointed out Mrs Pelosi’s actions. You’re apparently trying to cover it up. THAT’S partisan. @Zaxel
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Another comment based solely on your all knowing wantabeism. @QuixoticSoul
TexChik · F
@Zaxel really ? 🙄
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@TexChik $355 million 😂

How gullible are you people?

PS, even Trump said he was a fan of funding the center through this pandemic.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Nah, this is just the reality of the situation. The lawmakers aren’t in a position to properly understand these bills - and if they were, they wouldn’t hold up in court.

Even something relatively slim like the 200 page long Obama replacement wasn’t ready by the actual congressmen.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Nah. Pelosi really wanted $355M initially as well as other dem pandering bells and whistles. I trust the republicans understanding what they are agreeing to and the Dems absolutely not. @QuixoticSoul @QuixoticSoul @TexChik
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Any serious source on this rather wild number?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Lmao, none of them read the bills, but you only complain about one side 🤔

This concept doesn’t bother me one bit personally - because I don’t want to live in a country ruled by lawyers.
