The US has dragged its feet for at least like a month on its virus response. Our President and various other leaders downplayed the virus in the beginning. They only started leveraging the power of the Defense Production Act -- which allows the gov't to force companies to build certain things -- a few days ago to build respirators. It should've been done like a month ago, and it should've been done to numerous companies instead of just GM. We need more respirators sooner.

And also, the bailout bill the gov't has passed is garbo. It only gives paid sick leave to workers in companies with 50-500 workers, but the virus doesn't gaf about the size of your company. 🤦‍♂️ We should've locked down non-essential travel to and from major cities by now, but we're barely even talking about it. And our preparedness level is just embarrassing; we shouldn't be sourcing so many damn medical supplies from the PRC.

Also, continuing the medical sanctions on Iran is absolutely unconscionable, as is trying to buy a vaccine for exclusive US use.

It's not all bad. Most states are locked down right now in some capacity and the CDC did receive a nice budget bump when things started getting serious. And for all of the President's flaws, he's one of the best at banning travel to and from other countries.
