Here We Go Again with Trump

He’s lost my support. I’ve gritted my teeth at some of his policies, and still decided to support him because there is no other option, but he’s gone too far with denaturalization of American Citizens. People who came here legally, have been tax paying citizens, some for many decades, or a lifetime, but now they can be stripped of their citizenship and deported for falling foul of the law, in some way. This is not right, and I can no longer support him.

I know I’ll get the Right wing haters, who will say, “you couldn’t be a real Trump supporter,” and the Leftists who will say, “I told you so,” but that doesn’t matter. To the conservatives (and I am one), I say that I’m not a sheep, and when I see authoritarianism like this, I’m done. To the Leftists, I would never support one of your crowd because of their authoritarian policies. It seems Left or Right, authoritarianism is the name of the game, no matter who is in power.

are you gonna vote in your state or territory's primary?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
No. Not now. @BlueVeins
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I have no one to vote for.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Carissimi Bill Weld too gross for ya?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
Never heard of him, which means he couldn’t win, even if I supported his policies, which I don’t know anything about. @BlueVeins

@Carissimi Well, it's a protest vote. He doesn't actually have to win for your vote to make a difference. There's no doubt that presidents look at that kind of data to see how they're doing with their own party's base. When Trump sees that Bill Weld ran a small portion of the votes, it'll at least convey the fact that you're kinda pissed with him.

I’m not a registered Republican. I’m an independent conservative. @BlueVeins
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Carissimi Why? Doesn't that limit your influence in politics?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I still get to vote. Other than this, I have no influence in politics. @BlueVeins
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Carissimi Yeah, but you don't get to choose the candidates. What good is getting to pick if the options are awful?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
How can I influence what candidates run for office? I can’t. All I have is my vote, which unfortunately I don’t get to use because the options are awful. @BlueVeins
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Carissimi You can influence which ones get the nomination by voting in the primaries. Surely, they don't all suck that badly at the announcement of their campaigns, right?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I don’t vote democrat, and as far as I know, Trump is the only one running on the conservative side. @BlueVeins
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Carissimi There are one or two Republicans running against Trump, and there'll definitely be a more diverse race in 2024.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I’d vote for Rand Paul, but I doubt he’s running. @BlueVeins
