Even borders that were completely closed to all foreign persons would not have stopped the spread of corona virus. People would still have been returning from China to their native countries.

@SW-User Via Tijuana?

@Budwick My point is that no country is going to close the borders to its own native citizens and they certainly wouldn't have done so before they knew about the outbreak, by which time it would already have got in.

@SW-User I'm sorry to have confuse you.
I assumed the 'open border' thing would draw your attention to issues we've been facing on our border with Mexico and the desire of many to simply allow non-citizens free access.

I never meant to suggest that borders be closed to citizens.

@Budwick Oh sure, I get you. I don't advocate completely open borders at all. I don't want them here and I wouldn't expect anyone to want them there either. People coming to live in a country should be vetted, should be legal and should add value. They should not be criminals, they should not be redundant low skilled labour. Countries in the east have been far less generous with their borders than we have in the west.

@SW-User Cool!
I misunderstood initially.
I agree with what you wrote there.
@SW-User We don’t have open borders.

@LeopoldBloom Only cuz your side lost!
@Budwick So what are you babbling about? If we have open borders now, it’s Twitler’s fault because he oversees border control.

Typical conservative, creating a straw man again.

@LeopoldBloom Oh yea of short memory!
@Budwick Still waiting for that wall that Mexico's supposed to pay for.
