LBGT Kills an American Institution

The Boy Scouts are 110 years old.
One of the finest organizations imaginable.
Teaching boys and young men skills, moral code, challenge, responsibility was what they were all about.

LGBT gained a little popularity in recent years and decided that Boy scouts were not inclusive enough for them. They wanted girls to join the boys club.

That was damaging enough when scout leadership caved to their demands.
Now, the LBGT of old that abused boys decades ago left damaging scars on those kids, now grown and they're suing in such great number - the scouts are going bankrupt.

It seems that everything the left gets hold of is ruined, broken, soured and over all destroyed.

I actually been in a Belgian variant of scouts for 15 year and been leader of a group for 5 years. My group was boys only. Just like we had a girls only scouts-group that came together at the same day we did in the same building. Now things are mixed, and even though the old guys complained about this in the beginning... I never hear anny complaint right now. Even tough both gender-groups went on diffrent camping trips, at least once every two month we organised a mixed-group activity with the same age group.

I guess it all depends on what people call "ruined" of course.

With things like scouts and student fraterinities, I don't get why people that are older and aren't actively participating in the activities that are organised are so heavily invested in "tradition" and how things "should be". Because these organisations are actually a way for young adults to learn to organise and do things for themselves. I think we should give them the free choice. So I also don't agree with activists pushing groups to behave a certain way unless it's damadging to them or the community. My scoutsgroup after a while decided freely to join hands with the girlsquad and my fraternity also allows girls right now... as long as they have fun and behave to a certain degree, then who am I to tell them what to do? 🤷‍♂️ I had my time, let them have theirs.

I like scouting and scouts too.
When I expressed an interest to continue as a leader when my boys left, I was told that 'it would be difficult' if I didn't have a boy involved. That wasn't in Belgium of course. I suppose they run things differently in different places.

@Budwick Boy scouts in America (from what I know of it) are heavily diffrently run.

I personally was with a group called "Chiro" which is a similair but flemish variant of the scouts. We have more variants over here then boyscouts but all these variants are similairly run. We don't have parents that are leaders. Once you hit 17-18 and the group believes you are old enough, you can qualify as a leader of a group. And these groups are run by 17-25 year olds... you can stay a leader as long as you wish and as long as the group tolerates you. However, at a certain age, most generations decide it's time for younger people. When I left, there were already generation conflicts brewing. Just like when we became leaders with our generation, the oldest generation had a problem with our mentality and vieuws. So things naturally cycle over time.
