LBGT Kills an American Institution

The Boy Scouts are 110 years old.
One of the finest organizations imaginable.
Teaching boys and young men skills, moral code, challenge, responsibility was what they were all about.

LGBT gained a little popularity in recent years and decided that Boy scouts were not inclusive enough for them. They wanted girls to join the boys club.

That was damaging enough when scout leadership caved to their demands.
Now, the LBGT of old that abused boys decades ago left damaging scars on those kids,now grown and they're suing in such great number - the scouts are going bankrupt.

It seems that everything the left gets hold of is ruined, broken, soured and over all destroyed.

So... you acknowledge the organization harbored pedophiles for decades, and their victims are finally getting justice. And you're blaming LGBT people for destroying the scouts, not the pedophiles? Not the leadership that looked the other way while these crimes were being committed?

The dudes molesting kids in the scouts are heterosexual in their adult relationships, they aren’t part of the LGBT community.

Pedophilia in general is essentially a separate sexual orientation with its own patterns.

Nicholas Groth, a pioneer in the field of sexual abuse of children, shows that is not so. Groth found that there are two types of child molesters: fixated and regressive. The fixated child molester — the stereotypical pedophile — cannot be considered homosexual or heterosexual because "he often finds adults of either sex repulsive" and often molests children of both sexes. Regressive child molesters are generally attracted to other adults, but may "regress" to focusing on children when confronted with stressful situations. Groth found, as Herek notes, that the majority of regressed offenders were heterosexual in their adult relationships.

@Budwick Look, if you just hate gay people, that's your problem. But don't pretend that every gay person is a pedophile, or that they're responsible for bankrupting the Boy Scouts. It was the pedophiles that did that. The pedophiles and the people that looked away when it happened.

And for the record, the LGBT community does not support pedophiles; they are just as vilified and hated there as they are among heterosexuals.

@FaeLuna To people like Budwick, LGBT and pedophiles are the same thing, but they're not. The Boy Scouts were ruined by pedophiles, not by the LGBT community. Pedophiles are going to be drawn to occupations where they can be close to children. The Boy Scouts decided to be silent about it and cover it up rather than face the issue head-on. The Catholic Church did the same thing. Silence and a cover-up are not the way to handle child abuse in your institution.
