Do you think that having a space force as a military branch is an exaggeration or just a preventive measure?

Does it make the future seem a lot more twisted and macabre or is it an indicator of progress?

Most advanced nations, and especially the nuclear powered ones are in space, and rest assured it's not only for exploration. Military priorities are very much a part of a nation's interest in space. And that competition right now, at least between the U.S. and China, and very likely Russia as well is very intense.
