Do you think that having a space force as a military branch is an exaggeration or just a preventive measure?

Does it make the future seem a lot more twisted and macabre or is it an indicator of progress?

It's ridiculous. In reality, nobody is waging war in space. Ever. The science behind that doesn't hold up. It's just a show to say we have this potentially threatening thing...that we can never use.

@SW-User I was just thinking, is the Earth not enough? Do we have to have a superpower in space now that we need a specific nation to control? Are there going to be borders in space? Wars in space?
SW-User
@HannibalAteMeOut there will never be wars in space. Even if we colonise other planets. Without atmosphere shooting anything in space becomes beyond problematic.

@SW-User maybe they'll develop other kinds of guns for this purpose. Do not underestimate them 😅

@SW-User But... Star Trek and Star Wars!

@SW-User This is absolutely not true. Space is already militarized, every major player has military intelligence satellites and anti-satellite weapons.
SW-User
@QuixoticSoul I didn't say anti-satellite weapons were not there. I said they will never be used.

@SW-User They will inevitably be used the second any major powers get into a tiff.
