Does anyone else thoroughly despise the term "person of color"?

I'm not a leftist and I never will be....and I find that term for minorities to be racist. It places emphasis on their skin color, not their character, morality, or contributions to society.

Despise is a strong word.
I DO despise 'political correctness'.
And person of color is a result of that.

They're people.
We're people.
We're all phucking people.
All white, black, African/American, Asian, Latino, Hispanic, gay, straight, trans, Christian, Jewish, ,,, on and on - totally unnecessary. [Someone's gonna bitch at me for not including THEIR group.]

Enough with separating us into little pigeon hole identity slots.
I am totally not interested.

@Budwick The hilarity of it being considered a PC phrase is that it fosters more division than calling a person black or Asian would. A lazy way to ignore individuality.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User If you require skin color or ethnicity to define who you are - you are not an individual anyway.
SW-User
@Budwick It's far from being the sole criteria that defines us but of course it's required. If you're a person you have skin color and you were born somewhere.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User It's required? Because ....
What difference does it make?
SW-User
@Budwick I imagine the difference would be an extremely long discussion requiring someone that is an expert on genetics.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User And you need to know my genetics because ,......
SW-User
@Budwick I don't need to know your genetics. We were talking in general terms. But if you want to make it about you we can. If you feel so strongly about labels such as color and ethnicity being so useless why do you describe yourself in such a way on your profile?

@SW-User Fair question!
That's because I am poking fun at one of many of Obama's comments trying to divide people into groups - just like you are wanting to do.

That kind if shit was all the rage back in 2008.
You don't remember?
SW-User
@Budwick I remember him being a politician and trying to champion his base with what they wanted to hear. Attempting to target specific groups to build a voter base is still all the rage in 2020 as well.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User That's true.

There are differences between parties though.
Democrats will try to cater to white [not so much], black, African/American, Asian, Latino, Hispanic, gay, straight, trans, Christian [no], Jewish [hell no], Muslim, illegal aliens, etc.
Republicans have one group - Americans.
SW-User
@Budwick 😂 Bullshit

@Budwick Oh how I missed debating you.

@SW-User Those were the says, eh?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Budwick what is the Republican definition of “American” exactly?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@JoeyFoxx Ooo - lefty trickery!
Doncha love it?
What will the trap be?
What will my response not include?
Or will it include too much?
Has he outsmarted me?
Or, is he a dumb ass?

A citizen of the USA.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Budwick just clarifying

So, can I assume then that you are supportive of citizens that weren’t born here but believe that some things need to change and evolve?

(As opposed to supporting language like “then why not just go back home?”)
Budwick · 70-79, M
@JoeyFoxx @JoeyFoxx I think you are attempting to modify my response to one that is more to your liking. Maybe like the 'citizen' you want to modify the United States.

Take my response,
be glad you got one.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Budwick Some modification is obviously required, same as any country. It is the height of burger nonsense to think that everything is somehow perfect - and this paradoxically often comes from people who are trying to make the country great again.

Even though they can’t seem to point to a specific period they’d like to return to 🤔
Budwick · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Yeah, yeah, guys like you and Joey like to get your nose under the ten and mess things up.

No one said the USA is perfect.
But personally, I enjoy the immigrant story that tells about some person that loved the USA before they ever got her.
They worked hard to get here.
They want to be American.
To be identified as an American.
To learn the language.
To fit in.
To bring their special talent here and make their own American dream.

The immigrant story about someone that wants to be here to show us how we've been doing it all wrong - not so much.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Budwick What a hilariously deluded fantasy lmao. More peak burger nonsense, which is especially bizarre in a country with such a strong immigrant foundation.

Doubly funny in context of dear leader whining about not enough people coming from first-world nations - these kinds of bizarre paternalistic expectations is part of why.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul What a small, insignificant man you have made yourself to be.

Read the prologue of Sebastian Gorka's book "Why We Fight" - you will learn the story of an American immigrant we can be proud of.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Budwick Lmao ah yes, drowning in jingoism is the path to significance 😂
Budwick · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul You are banned til at least Monday.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Budwick toodles snowflake 👋
