Does anyone else thoroughly despise the term "person of color"?

@quitwhendone my message is everything these days is racist. It's stupid. Because you say someone is colored doesn't mean your racist. We are all colored.

@SW-User True. People of color is a centuries-old expression. I have no problem with it.

@SW-User The only issue is that your interpretation of the phrase "colored people" doesn't quite sync up with how our society has defined it throughout history. Whoever first coined the phrase wasn't including white people.

@SW-User back then though, America wasn’t full of Hispanics, nor were their middle easterns, Indians or many Asians. It was literally white and black. Now it’s white and ‘everybody else’.

there actually were native Americans and also Asians and other poc during the Civil rights era and prior. The Golden gate Bridge was built in the 30's with the help of Chinese immigrants.

Also Yellow Peril and Black Pride was a whole entire movement during the Civil rights era. It combined Asians and Black activists.

@LikeTheSun I'm from the south. Colored down here refers to black people. But it can mean all non whites.

@SW-User omg now you want to take us back how many years? They bitch about an NFL team cuz it's name could be considered racist. We had to change the name of a street cuz it was called confederate blvd. Why is race still an issue after all this time? The only people who bitch about everything being racist are usually racists themselves.
