Does anyone else thoroughly despise the term "person of color"?

I'm not a leftist and I never will be....and I find that term for minorities to be racist. It places emphasis on their skin color, not their character, morality, or contributions to society.

Yes, firstly it reinforces the stigma that white is not a colour which puts albinos and people who identify as albinos at risk of marginalization, and secondly it excludes people that don't identify as people and denies the truth of people who present both white and non-white identities

@plungesponge albinism has nothing to do with race though.. There are albinism in almost every single ethnic group and nationality of people

Also "people who don't identify as people" ?

Exactly, calling an albino person of non-white ethnicity a "person of colour" would be an incredible hate crime, and even more so if they were white or identified as such

@plungesponge i don't think its thar deep tbh. Most "people of color" dont soley identify as "poc" when asked but rather their nationality, ethnicity or race.

I don't go around calling myself a "person of color" most people don't. Its just a descriptor. With that said, A person with albinism could identify with their ethnicity or nationality.

@LikeTheSun lol... how cute. I was seeing how ridiculous I could take this topic since PC is basically only one step removed from satire now anyway, and you've been so accomodating trying to genuinely understand it from my batshit angle 🤣👍

I can be a bit slow at times. People don't seem to mind though.
