The Speaker and the President owe us an apology

They embarrassed the nation on television last night.

They are arrogant and self-righteous and neither demonstrated leadership.

They should be ashamed.

They owe us an apology.

I would like to see some civility between the parties, but I don't think that is going to be possible with Trump leading one of them. Hopefully once he is removed from office, we'll be able to get back to constructive discussions. The future of the nation depends on it.

@windinhishair that is the optimistic view. I worry t(at long term damage to civility has been done.

@monte3 I agree that long-term damage has been done already. I believe it will take many years, perhaps decades, to fix the damage. But I am also convinced that it can and will be done.

@windinhishair when Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi step down along with Mitch McConnell, there might be hope.

@JoeyFoxx I'm sure we'll see plenty of turnover this decade.
