Did you know?

That democrat voters are not as verbally adept as republicans and that democrat voters are much less scientifically aware than republicans. Only 57% of Americans know that the earth revolves around the sun once a year. 49% of democrats know that which drags down the average significantly.

Do you have a source? TIME Magazine says that 75% of Americans know that the Earth revolves around the Sun (still terrible), but it doesn't mention a partisan divide.

Edit -- Here's the GSS survey from which TIME was getting its info.

Another edit -- The 49% claim can be found on the right-leaning site, IRJ, which in turn refers to a dead link from the far-right website, Front Page Mag.

@BlueVeins The 2018 GSS data is what hippyjoe was referring to as a source, and as you point out, shows a different conclusion. The raw data show that of 1171 people who answered the question, 836 (71.4%) said the earth goes around the sun, 281 (24.0%) said the sun goes around the earth, and 54 (4.6%) didn't know.
