Victim actually. She was bred by parents who decided to make her a tool for their own unaccomplished lives. Poor pathetic thing, she doesn't even realize that the love she has for her own is being manipulated for their own parental designs.
Sad really....

@Freeranger Lol. You don't like what she says so she has to be a pawn. Who is the child here?
Freeranger · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That you follow a programmed 16 year old is telling...I leave you to your emotionalism. It makes a nifty tale.
Whirrled peace mate.

@fairefoutre She's a girl period. Programmed. Manipulated. Funded. You can't bullshit bullshitters ....sorry.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Freeranger Sorry mate but you are the one operating on emotions and wishful thinking. Sad you have to point out all she is doing is acting on the scientific inevitability because the "leaders" would rather sell out her future so they can make a buck and will be dead before the bill is due.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I don't have a dog in this fight actually, only the view of a realist who is balanced enough to look at the horror unfolded. She can traipse the world for all I care, blowing off her education to become a harpie for the Eco world if her parents see fit. Please just don't try to involve science in the endeavor, it gets messy after that amigo.
Enjoy your day.

@Freeranger lol. Unless you are on the ISS everyone is affected. Try jumping out a six story window. After all it is "just a theory ".
Freeranger · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm less affected than you old boy so, sorry...I went Marine Corps rather than Airborne. Why jump out of a perfectly good plane.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Freeranger So you are one of those guys itching for the apocalypse.
The point is climate change might be a theory but so is gravity.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Actually bub, I'm one of those guys itching for reality, which is in short supply anymore. While I wish you no ill will, enjoy your own reality.
The point IS....mankind has no record coursing back hundreds or thousands of years regarding comparative study. What we DO know is that Green change has the potential to generate millions of dollars for the right mouth pieces, and it is WHY self made climatologists sign on the bandwagon.....everyone wants that little piece of the pie.

Never let facts interfere with a nice story, but her parents tried to discourage her from becoming too involved.
We don't have proof of that, ff, only their after-the-fact claim. Their actions seem to tell a different story.

I didn't say I had proof on the other side, simply that you have no proof for the blanket statement you made, and that there is at least as good evidence on the other side. Read the linked article.

The question was not how tough-minded Greta may be, but whether her parents manipulated her or not, and for what purpose. The accusations made against them are in the linked article, which I suggest you read.

@fairefoutre If I can add anything, it's that this young girl was programmed to present, with a host of support which ordinary people are never going to be allowed to view. On one hand, it was posted that her father was actually answering her emails. I find the whole situation repugnant. This young girl is a pawn and clueless figurehaead in a much larger issue regarding potentially billions of eco dollars.

@Thinkerbell Precisely Tink....and on it goes right?

As I pointed out elsewhere, the real problem is human population. Even if we accept everything Greta claims about carbon emissions, the plain fact is that the Earth can probably not sustain 8 billion or more people indefinitely, for reasons beyond carbon emissions, certainly not at anything like a modern standard of living, solar panels and windmills notwithstanding.
The only real solution in that case is population reduction by stringent birth control. But of course it is racist to point out just which areas of the world are not doing their part in that regard.

@DudeistPriest Exactly! She's no "hero", and she's not "raising awareness". She's spreading misinformation, and fear-mongering, and making a tidy profit for it. The actions of her and her Antifa-supporting parents show them to be as phony and hypocritical as the worst liberals.
