I do so love how Trumps Treasury man Mnuchin tells Greta Thunberg to go study economics. You cant be surprised. This from the nation that will have a person bankrupt a whole family getting decent medical care in the richest country in the world.
After all . Economics is WAY more important that being able to breathe or have fresh water to drink.
@whowasthatmaskedman Right wing economics only exists in theory so it doesn't threaten them.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Economics is economics for all. But it does come in two basic forms. One where you cooperate and gain a better standard of living by advancing methods and improving all sorts of outcomes. This is called development. The other where you take from one person or group without reciprocity to enrich yourself and shore up your own security. This used to be called theft. But in recent times it was called US foreign policy.
@whowasthatmaskedman I would say your assessment of economics is true to a point but the reason we are here is economics are ideological soft science and right now the Chicago School is king and is based on using the movie Wall St and Atlas Shrugged as how to manuals.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I agree.. And the only reason there is any interest is the two fold backlash, first from consumer sentiment. And Second, because the global warming/environmental crisis (and it is one) will affect production and trade generally. Agribusiness cant harvest or process drought or climate ruined crops. andsocial unrest and war are bad for most businesses. (Unless you happen to be a US arms manufacturer.)
@whowasthatmaskedman These are interesting times. In this decade we are looking at the end of capitalism, peak oil , and climate change disasters.
