Why do politicians make you cringe?

Not all politicians make me cringe. Some of the people I worked with, are now in the House and Senate. They don't need the money, and they are only interest, is to represent the people interests, as well as an agenda they consider is good for their constituency, our country and the world.

Then again, some politicians are cringe worthy, and will sell their grandmothers, if it means winning an election.

If you don't like the ballot choices, encourage someone you like to run. We don't have an instant democracy (that's secure and reliable), where people can vote, twitter style, so this is the system we have to live with, for now.

Because the majority of 'em are manipulative bastards.

Because they're out for themselves and cannot be trusted!

The amount of sycophants that follow them licking their boots.

Because they are all lying sacks of shit.

Just libs

All those rehearsed superficial talking points I find irritating. It makes the political sphere seem incredibly phony. It's all platitudes and empty promises.

I went through a 3 week course on counter interrogation an watch them use the same tactics when given hard questions by reporters or during debates.

Because they are too loyal to their party rather than their constituents and will say almost anything if they think it will help them get elected.

I find it remarkable that people are so rabidly against them when deception and superficiality is ingrained into our entire culture. There is nothing special about politicians that you won't find in say, a salesman. A businessperson. The marketing department. HR. A CEO. ETC.

Their lies and pandering are so abundantly clear, yet people buy into them anyway.

It's the profession of megalomaniac and weasles. It takes a certain type of person to even want to do it and it's not a type I have much I like about. I think even gangsters are more reliable and down to earth
