Is it OK that the Canadian taxpayer should bear the cost of security for Harry & Meghan's move to Canada ?

I'm confused. I thought they said they were going to be financially independent. Doesn't that mean they'd be securitily independent?

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP That was just a smokescreen, to impress the public. Royal insiders are saying there’s no way they can be financially independent, given the lifestyle they like to lead. They take several private jets each week, for a start! They can NEVER live without security, because regardless of stepping down & distancing themselves, they are still members of the Royal family & as such, will always be vulnerable/targets & a liability to their host country
