@SatanBurger They did. It was said on tape by the eulogist at the general's funeral. Whether or not it's been sanctioned by authorities is unclear. But if it has been, we're not going to hear about it.

@Graylight Snopes says it's a mixture and kind of misleading to say it's the Iranian Govt.

@SatanBurger I agree.. Its a sort of Grey fact. It happened, But not from a govt source.. However, no Govt Representative has come forward to call it fake news either.

@whowasthatmaskedman They probably low key approved of the idea that's why so it could be partially true.

@SatanBurger It was a loundmouthed drama queen who said it. The government isn't obligated to say that it's not official policy; that would be giving it more attention than it deserves. Kind of like when some right-wing talk show host says we need to round up all the Muslims and expel them from the country, the government doesn't issue a statement saying that won't happen.
