Voting for Republican economic policies only benefits the top 0.1% of the U.S. population. Why would you vote for them?

And yest according to stats the ones gaining the most in Trump's economy are the low wage earners. Hmmmmm.

@hippyjoe1955 Who's stats? Supply your stats and references. The ones gaining the most are the top earners. I can give your hard data on that. Can you?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta shows that for the lowest wage earners, Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” economy has delivered the quickest rate of wage hikes in more than a decade.

In November, the bottom 25 percent of wage earners saw their wages rise 4.5 percent compared to November 2018. These bottom-tier workers, those earning less than all other Americans, have secured a labor market that now resembles the labor market of top-tier workers — a result of less low-skilled foreign competition against Americans through increased interior immigration enforcement.

“A strong labor market makes the bargaining power of lower-paid workers more like the labor market higher-wage workers experience during good times and bad,” Indeed.com economist Nick Bunker told the Wall Street Journal.

@hippyjoe1955 The federal reserve bank (Atlanta) is a private organization believe it or not. Financial organizations/markets have huge incentives to publish figures that are skewed. Also, they do not collect data, they just spin it. Even if this is fact, 4.5% of nothing is virtually nothing. in addition the middle classes are still falling back.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Sure they do. And the sky is green and water is dry and you are just a sad loser leftist who still thinks class warfare is thing. Sucks to be you.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo the middle class started suffering under Obama when he made insurance so high hardly anyone could afford it
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 I wonder why the ultra right (such as you) always revert to insults when your arguments hit rocky ground. Let me guess, you are from the south, a bible thumper, xenophobic, homophobic, working class and republican. Am i right?
yogibooboo · M
@Mountainlady16 It began under Reagan, with the advice of Milton Friedman.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo actually you obviously dont check profiles. Hes Canadian me on other hand yep im southern but no we're middle class and i have no problem with legal immigration just illegals.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Leftists are losers. That is a statement of fact not an insult. The facts are that leftism increases disparity between the economic strata. Free markets decrease said disparity. Will the disparity ever be eliminated? NO!! It will always be with us. However thinking that punishing the 'rich' somehow helps the poor is simply insane. I find work for homeless men and women in an effort to help them get off the street. I asked one group that if they had a million dollars and had to give it to one person to help the most other people would you give it to a homeless person or a rich person. They thought about it and debated for a bit then concluded they would give it to a rich person. The homeless person would buy a bunch of booze or drugs for his/her buddies and in short order the money would be gone. The rich person would use the money to start a business and hire people who in turn would make money and pay taxes or give to charities etc.
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 Free markets under neoliberal ideals do not decrease the disparity. Inequality has never been so bad. There is also nu such thing as a "free market". Someone always pays.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Actually they do. They offer the greatest opportunity for free individuals to make money and get ahead financially. Government redistribution of wealth has never solved any problem but has created a lot of them.
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 What I find sad is that millions of Americans buy into this philosophy, particularly the ones who will get burned the most. Good luck! And by the way, I don't see much "hippy" in hippyjoe.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo What philosophy are you talking about? Yours is the destructive one. I live in a province that went from free market to socialist. The economy crashed. The little guy and young people lost the most. The socialists have been tossed out but it will take years to get the economy back to the state it was where young people start to gain again. The socialist solution was to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour. Unemployment skyrocketed. Service industries like hotels, restaurants daycares etc all laid off staff because they couldn't meet payroll.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo you do realize every socialist nation has usually turned into a dictatorship and millions die and 10000s of others are desperate to escape why do you think that is if that system is so great
yogibooboo · M
@Mountainlady16 Who ever mentioned socialism? And please supply facts to support the absurd statements
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo look at the history of USSR, China, north Korea just name a few countries. Your kinds solution is to turn over private industry to the government socialism
yogibooboo · M
@Mountainlady16 So now you know what my solutions are? Strange, I don't recall talking about solutions or even my politics. I just posed a question. You seem to be stuck in "iron curtain" mentality. What about Europe, Scandinavia?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo You don't have any solutions. All you have is problems. Yeah we got that. Socialists and liberals don't live in the real world.
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 There is a myriad of solutions, but not worth explaining to the blind, deaf and DUMB.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Start naming them. I could use a good laugh.
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 You should re-read my last statement
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@yogibooboo Start naming your solutions or you lose the debate. Simple enough for you?
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo their socialism hasnt lasted enough for us to know the long term effect. Hell it took the ussr nearly 90 years to get rid of Communism and are nearly 30 years later suffering from the fallout. And alot European nation have extremely high as in over 50 percent income tax
yogibooboo · M
@hippyjoe1955 This has never been close to a debate. LOL Where you the kid in school who took his ball home when he didn't like playing with the others? lol
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@yogibooboo yeah this turned into a debate cause you like so many leftist think that the solution to poverty is steal from the rich. This isnt Robin Hood
