I know someone who was sentenced to pull 10 yrs for killing someone drinking and driving ,but prisons are so over crowded he attended a few counseling session ,was trusted for work release and was set free on probation in 2 1/2 yrs . He was not out long when he blew a motel up making meth ,left a girl to take the rap .got off again . But when he tried killing himself and my nephew ,I called in a wellness check on him (he had just bragged to someone else I know he was cooking meth ) He got more time for the meth then for killing someone . Since he has been in this time he has been going to collage (state paid every dime and he has daily access to a computer ) In 7 months he gets out again ,with a good job waiting on him . But if he messes with my nephews Mom and messes up her life He will wish they kept him ,and I won't trust the justice system again . If you're Mom has money there is no justice ,she can buy him out of it . The girl he abandoned in the motel ,she was severely burned ,and she went to jail for his crime . One of many lives he has screwed up ,and he is barely over 30 . He still has time to build a good life , The boy he killed ,had scholarships to college (full ride he worked hard for ) I believe in second chances ,but when you have demonstrated you never change ,Mom just keeps hiring better lawyers .why should he ? I pray he does right this time ,and does not force me to screw my life up too, making sure he does not ruin his son's life ,and his Mom's that has worked hard and done a very good job raising their son ,on her own ,no support from anyone . She chose to make something of herself ,he better not try to mess that up . The man on the bridge wanted to die ,that's what happens when you have a vest that looks like a suicide vest ,at least now he won't ruin anymore lives .
