Article IV section 4 of our constitution requires our government to protect our borders. BUILD THE WALL!
xRedx · M
@curiosi careful now, the loonies here might think you're rAcIsT for stating facts lol
AkAtSUki · F
@curiosi lol how dare you quote the constitution! Lol. They no longer follow that.
Our rights are being stripped away little by little.

Obviously not open borders, but not a wall either. There's a reason we have locks on our homes, same thing should be for the nation.

That said. 45% of immigrants fly into the United States. And, most of the Mexicans are already here, lol. So building a wall is a really silly and wasteful thing to do. If drugs constantly get into the country illegally, people are going to, as well.

In addition, there was something called the "revolving door" in the early 80s and 90s, prolly before, where Mexicans would come here to work, then go back home to support their families.

Building a wall doesn't prevent them from coming in, but it makes it riskier or more challenging to go back home. So they stay. Which I am not averse to, lemme tell you I like Latinas as much as white girls; but, for point of argument: a wall is as dumb as burning great heaping piles of money.

There needs to be a different solution.

I like the idea of the wall, but I'd rather spend the tax money on coastguard and border patrols employing more of our patriotic citizens to actually enforce our laws.
Agreement on immigration law (including any changes) and uniform enforcement of same or the wall.

How about something reasonable

@AkAtSUki That’s because guns are sought in other states where gun laws are lax and brought into Chicago. It’s the same situation in California. For example it was found that the San Bernardino terrorists got their rifles (which is illegal under California law) in another state.
AkAtSUki · F
@SW-User my point exactly
SW-User
@AkAtSUki I don’t see where I proved your point here. My point is lax gun laws in another state is what caused the San bernardino shooting. If gun laws were strict in states where it’s lax, shootings in Chicago would decline and the San Bernardino attack would have never happened.

Walls are historically a foolish idea.

put the bricks in the wall
we already have a couple of fences and walls and the rio grande - so just stop supporting them and arrest anyone suspected of harboring them - make it a felony
Graylight · 51-55, F
Neither. I'm pretty sure there's updated technology for securing borders, and maybe we revamp the entire immigration process so it makes sense to use.

whatever the reigning president says. why do we bother electing people if we cant trust their decisions?

Open borders
Carissimi · 70-79, F
Just leave your front door open to get a feel of what it’s like. Welcome anyone to share your food and belongings. It’s the same for a country.@SW-User

@Carissimi Sure. My neighborhood is safe enough. I don't even lock my cars.
