Should the Presidency be one six year term

Presidents spend most of their first term working towards re-election and Congress, if they are from the other party, don't want to give the president a win.

One six year term may be better for all involved.

No that's a horrible idea. Presidents get something of a carte blanche in their second term - validated by a referendum on the quality of governance the people saw in the first term. It's not supposed to come immediately.

Presidency is really an eight year thing, with an option to eject someone midway through. The incumbent has a huge advantage if he's not a complete fuckup.
