I Like Politics

The starting pistol has been fired. Parliament has been dissolved. The PM will visit Buckingham Palace this morning for an audience with her Majesty and then its game on.

On BBC Breakfast this morning Louise Minchin tied Conservative party chairman James Cleverly in knots over a doctored (Louise's words) video of Shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer seemingly unable to answer a question posed by Piers Morgan. Add that to Jacob Rees Moggs insensitive comments about the Grenfell tower tragedy and it's not been a good start to the campaign for the Conservatives.

good luck! from here, your dilemma seems unlikely to find a solution.

@Yulianna it's going to be a tactical election
Yulianna · 22-25, F
@SW-User are the voters clever enough to realise that? or will they again vote on lies and emotions?
SW-User
@SW-User One where Brexit takes a back element upon elements that really need to be talked about. Boris is making a mistake in tactic.
SW-User
@Yulianna a lot will depend on which side of the Brexit fence people are on.
SW-User
@SW-User If you spread out the original vote, it was older generations that voted out. (coincidentally they remember before, and would have less consequence thus voting in sentimentally in a way). Spread that vote just slimmer

@SW-User yes i agree, from what i read about it 🙂
SW-User
@SW-User I agree that domestic pledges should be at the forefront but it is predominantly a Brexit election. Jo Swindler has proved that as the LibUndems don't seem to have any domestic policies and all she talks about is stopping Brexit whenever she gets within 10 feet of a microphone
SW-User
@SW-User Curious, what happens if Boris is defeated? A real chance. The other parties are against Brexit, right? It's tactical of him, but it's another referendum in a way without him calling it that. And I'm certain of one thing, the British public don't like being misled or lied upon.

@SW-User well, as no two people seem to be able to agree just what brexit means, stopping and starting again with a clear plan does not seem too bad a policy... maybe a bit sophisticated for average voter
@Yulianna This election should be about domestic issues but sadly it will be dominated by Brexit.I think we will have another one by the Summer.
SW-User
@SW-User if no party hits the magic 326 and we have another hung Parliament then there will be deals made by parties in an attempt to form a coalition
Yulianna · 22-25, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales brexit is a domestic issue for britain... it will impact on everything else. it is ridiculous to try to separate it out from the rest of policy. only brexiteer fanatics pretend that can be done.
@Yuliannai am not taking the bait 🤔😺

@TheSirfurryanimalWales it's not bait...
@YuliannaIf you say so.
