Also the first apology from Anthony Bridgen about Rees-Mogg's comments about the Grenfell residents has led to another apology when he said that Mr Rees-Mogg was clearly "cleverer" than the residents who died. 🤦♂️

@SW-User years of austerity and under investment in our public services has left us in a mess. But I can't see how Jezzas pledges to take the railways and utilities back in to public ownership can be paid for without increasing income tax rates.

@SW-User but both sides are indicating large additional spending. Didn't the institute for fiscal studies say both would need to raise tax income to meet spending.
I thought (not yet seen manifesto) Labour was intending to reverse the reductions in corporate tax rates thus putting the tax burden on companies not individuals.
There's the obvious risk that companies move to more tax advantageous countries. Although when Pfizer was trying to facilitate the reverse take over of GSK to become a UK tax entity Obama put through legislation to stop that somehow. Whether we could do that inside EU rules in not sure but that presumably will be a moot point.

Yep. As if we weren't sick of the sight and sound of them over the past year. Now they want to try and get us to vote them back into office when most of us just want to survive the Christmas period without acquiring a credit card debt the size of a small mortgage.
If this were a site to pose questions to politicians I guess we'd all be asking the same thing.
