And who are these "Elites" you speak of?

By definition an "Elite" is a group of people with power, who approve more of their way of life than other peoples and want to preserve it for themselves. What they dont want is for everyone to share in what they have. They simply wish to enforce their ways, values and standards on everyone else, because they are better. So. I ask you. Who are the real Elitists? Sanders, Warren and co? Or McConnell, Graham and Pence? Lets leave Trump out of this.. You can call him a lot of things. But Elite doesnt apply to him at all.

It's interesting that populist if the left and right both talk about elites. For example :Nigel Farage and Jeremy Corbyn do this, as do Spiked magazine and Novarra media.

The main the same thing and also something different. With the left, it's more about aconomic elite whereas for the populist right, it's more about culture and geography. New York values, and Islington Liberal are right wing troups. The left talks about the billionaire class.

This is a recent thing and has come about since the financial crash of 2007 but also because of the declining living standards in the west under capitalist globalisation. The left analysis has remained consistent but has some traction now when it used to be marginal. The right analysis has seen neo liberal Conservatives become nationalists.
