First of all, I think it was being born into the thick of the counter culture. I had decided "hippie" was short for hypocrite by the time I was 14. Then, after I got out of the service, I tried being a leftist, and I saw that they were the most violent, biggest litter bugs, and generally the rudest and nastiest. I was mugged by reality. Children need a traditional family with traditional values, not this "anything goes" madness being pushed by the left. Everyday since about 1991, I have seen that the behavior of the so called "liberals" was, and is, increasingly disgusting, and / or pathetic on every level, and every day they reinforce my disgust towards them with their outlandish and outrageous behavior. It seems like they are completely backwards. They celebrate and applaud everything that is wrong, and they scorn everything that is right and good.

It's mind boggling; since the founding of our country we've been fighting communists, extremists, fascists, evil dictators, etc. of every shape and form; no one screaming more loudly about the infringement of basic rights/human freedoms than the democrats...
and after all this time, how do they respond? by capitulating to the very thing they claim to abhor. Joseph McCarthy is probably tossing in his grave at all the ideological communists we have in congress these days...
There was once a time that these kinds of people would've been convicted of treason and hanged or taken out back and shot for even mentioning socialism; and now people praise them for telling the masses that somehow things will be different this time; that socialism & more government control will be a good thing with them in control (a sentiment preached by virtually every evil regime and mass murdering dictator in recorded history)
the cold war era KGB, east German Stasi, etc. had nothing on the amount of lies, disinformation, and propaganda that the left spins these days; George Orwell was a good fiction writer, but he looks more and more like a prophet with every coming day...

@wildbill83 I just said "They are trying to make Orwell a prophet" the other day! Everyone I know sees it plain as day. The chronically unemployed social justice warriors in the streets, and the most powerful dems in Washington are the very worst of the worst. Sometimes I still have a hard time believing they actually exist. There are some good old Roosevelt democrats down here who still love their country and hate anything approaching Marxism, but they aren't going to be democrats for very long. Mark my words, there will be a lot of people out there who say horrible things about Trump for their own safety, but will vote for him in the booth. People are afraid to admit that they support Trump in some parts of the US, because they don't want to have physical or property damage. Many of the TDS crowd are the very definition of fascist.

@wildbill83 I totally agree. I believe that the only way to fix the problem of pushing us to socialism and worse is to attack the source. That source is our schools. What else can explain why so many young people believe in socialism? We need more free market, capitalists, conservative professors to balance the socialist, commie professors. Let's bring back free speech, and get rid of safe spaces. Fix our schools, fix our country.
