Wonder What New Zealanders Have to Say About This? Not Exactly the Country You'd Think This Would Occur In
'The most humiliating thing': Teenage girl who ran away from a mental health clinic is stripped naked and tossed in a room to sleep the night on the floor with a piece of cardboard to urinate on

Girl said nurses held her down and took her clothes and underwear off by force

Once naked, staff pushed her on the floor and left leaving her with only a

A cardboard bed pan was left, but no pillow or mattress to lie on

Health board agrees to apologise, review its practices and give training to staff
Give training to staff? Seriously?

How about firing the f*cking asses and having them prosecuted?

Termination is the best education one could hope for in this situation.

Agreed to apologize? Lmao. You don't agree to anything, when you violate someone's rights, you tell the business how it's going to be. Agreed makes it seem like it's a choice lmao.

They need to be in jail and their license lost.

How can any not see the problem with this situation?

I think termination from their employment is great training

I worked at a VA hospital. for 20+ years, and I can say there were users and abusers in that system who came to work for one reason...get a pay check every two weeks. Patients were not their main concern. Trust me, I saw incompetence, neglect at many levels. If the related story about the mental patient is true, first it does not surprise me, though I'd be naïve to think all is great in NZ or anywhere else where those in need of both physical and mental care are given the best.
