Male Principal Installs Cameras in Girls' Bathrooms
A school has sparked anger by installing a camera in a girls' toilet to stop vandalism and bullying.

One mum was so horrified when she found out that she reported King's Academy in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, to the police.

The woman, who has daughters at the school, told Teesside Live: "I was horrified and sickened by this.

"In a place where you would expect a bit of privacy my children were being recorded."

She added: "They justify this due to the reasons of vandalism and bullying, despite the fact they also restrict the number of pupils going into the toilet and have a teacher outside. I don't see the logic."

"Like many parents I'm appalled it's happening, some students were not aware it was a camera and they had been changing in that area."
I'm glad I don't have to deal with schools in the UK, left years ago and now I just visit as a tourist.

It seems to me that when I was at school in the UK in the sixties and early seventies behaviour was better and schools, pupils, and parents were to a much greater degree all pulling together. I just cannot imagine anyone putting up with this kind of thing in those days, I think there would have been a walkout in my high school if cameras had been installed.
