I think Donald Trump should be entitled to due process just like everyone else. If he has committed crimes that any other citizen would be arrested for, then yes, he should be arrested. If he has not, he should not be arrested. The rule of law is more important than anyone’s opinion of the man, and the rule of law should determine whether he’s arrested, indicted, convicted, acquitted, etc. Once the system becomes a tool for punishing those we disagree with merely because we disagree with them, it’s over. As damning as some of this appears, the man is still entitled to the same legal protections and options as everyone else. Regardless of my extremely low opinion of him as a human being, I wouldn’t hesitate to defend him if I ever felt he was being denied his basic constitutional rights.

@SW-User This. I’m pretty sure he’s guilty as hell, but we need a correctly handled arrest and trial. Otherwise, we’re no better than the people who oppose us.

Yep. No better than someone who would take out a full page ad in the New York Times demanding the execution of people who were cleared of a crime via DNA evidence, either.
