And in the latest Trump distraction...

Trump has told Turkey that he will abandon the Pro America Kurds to be attacked by Turkish forces without interference. Nice headline. But what it doesnt say is this forces the Kurds, who are fighting for their existence, to side with the Syrian government forces, back by Trumps good friend and Bank Manager Mr V Putin. Just a bonus there.
With Allies like America, you hardly need enemies.

We were always going to hang the Kurds out to dry sooner or later. Tbh, I’m not so certain that right now isn’t as good a time as any.

And yeah, Assad is the best option they have. That’s true for the rest of Syria, too - and always was.

@QuixoticSoul The one good thing to come out of this is to keep Russia in the region. The Middle East is a rats nest and the powers who mess there usually end up regretting it.

@QuixoticSoul Sad--the best long term solution for the Kurds is give them their own country--when they carved up the Middle East into countries after WW I< they made a huge mistake!!!

@Docdon23 Carving up four countries wasn’t a great option even in the wake of ww2 - and it’s definitely not going to happen now.
