Is Bernie out of the running?

I read today that he had a heart scare. He sounds safe but at his age, it's gonna be asking a lot to expect him to be President for four to eight years if he has health issues. It's sad really because he's my favourite American politician. I wish him the best of health.

But I wish him well.

There are some things I do agree with on, particularly health care.

Having a true national health care system like Canada does isn't communistic.

I think you misunderstand my position.

I [b]highly favor[/b] a [i]Canadian-style[/i] national health care system for the United States.

I [b]strongly oppose[/b] the ObamaCare mandate.

Why?

Canadians have a progressive tax system like ours, even more so.

Those with large means pay more - and that helps support the Canadian provincial health care systems.

But the ObamaCare mandate disregards our progressive tax system for the vast majority of Americans - and instead makes us pay with AFTER TAX dollars premiums to health care insurance companies who are PROFITING by those premiums.

And although there are "subsidies" available for some, that doesn't apply for very low income individuals. They are instead thrown onto Medicaid, with its subpar services. Put all Members of Congress on Medicaid and see how they'd like it.
