Is Adam Schiff The Right PErson To Investigate Trump?

Adam Schiff has had a burr under his saddle regarding Trump since Trump began his presidential campaign. He claimed to have Russia collusion evidence - that he never produced. Now, before the investigation has even begun, Schiff's words betray any semblance of a fair arbiter on the question of Trump's impeachment.

For Schiff, it looks like verdict now, trial later.

So is Schiff the right man for the job?

Actually, it looks like Schiff might be doing a great job of getting Trump to impeach himself

@MistyCee Yeah, wanting justice from democrats -

pretty lame, eh?

Nothing in that tweet does other than publicize further that Schiff didn’t tell the truth when supposedly reading the transcript out loud. The President has a right to defend himself from such scurrilous activity just like you and I. @MistyCee
@Budwick Nah, that's fine, but calling for his DOJ to arrest Schiff for treason is not, imo.

Between this, talking about whistleblowers being killed, and threatening civil war if he's impeached, I'm wondering if Trump is actually trying to jump over the shark, or if he's goading it into biting him to exterminate the whole species.

The best spin I could see on this is that he's hoping to show Democrats he's willing to take down the country and spill blood in the hopes as Nancy said before that "he's not worth it."

But she she called his bluff on the wall, and stuff like this really is bad enough to make people think it is worth it not to further enable him.

Whoa! Did Schiff make another speech or something?
@Budwick Check out Trump's tweets and speeches after Schiff's speech.

@MistyCee What?
Pissed at Schiff with his lies?
Wanting to meet his accuser? We all have the right to be confronted by the ones accusing. [I would have thought for all the stuff you claim to know, that you would actually know that!]
Carla · 61-69, F
@Budwick bud, there are laws that protect whistle blowers. I thought you would know that
@Budwick Im not an expert, but I doubt that there's much law on due process or the right to confront your accuser in the House before an impeachment vote. You certainly don't have a right to confront your accuser before a grand jury.

I get that Trump is pissed, that he thinks he did nothing improper, that he objects to Schiff's opening statement, resents the process, and that he can't just round up Schiff, the press, and anyone that challenges him and lock them up or have them shot.

But there's a huge difference between feeling that way, or ranting at a TV, and tweeting it out when you're President, telling people not to cooperate with a witch Hunt by Congress, etc.

That last line of the tweet, "I want Schiff
questioned at the highest level for Fraud and Treason" is eerily similar to the Ukraine charge, only far worse, because there's nothing remotely resembling fraud or treason about what Schiff did, and it demonstrates Trump's failure to put the country and the Constitution above himself far more clearly.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee The suspicion of Biden rises to the potential level of fraud and treason. Seems logical that the chief of the executive branch would have interest in that.
@Budwick Sounds like something Giuliani might float.

Matter of fact he did, but it wasnt about the tweet.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee HAve you seen that video of Biden boasting about how he forced Ukraine to fire some prosecutor? Or, he would withhold billions in aid?

Does that spark any interest in you? At all?
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Budwick You do know that Biden , and the EU , and the IMF , all wanted the prsosecutor fired for NOT investigating corruption , don't you ?
@Budwick I did, it does, and that's one reason I hope that the primary focus on Ukraine doesn't translate to ignoring other acts, including Russia, emoluments, obstruction, and whatever stuff Trump continues to do to fight against Congress, the Constitution, and ultimately the American people. This tweet, for example, is pretty good, like his whistleblower/spy comment.

It's a double edged sword, and I get the danger of a kitchen sink approach, and that the Ukraine thing is simple and politically sensitive to Republicans, but I think if Republicans can isolate this and make it about Biden, they can defend it better than if it's presented as part of an ongoing pattern and practice of putting Trump the man above Trump the President who swore an oath to serve.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee MIsty - you obviously have problems with Trump. You have a problem with everything he says, doesn't say, thinks, every movement, or if he is still.

In other words, your opinions mean nothing.
You are like a fart in the wind - offensive but inconsequential.

I hope you return to the planet soon.
@Budwick Feel better?

I think Trump has earned my feelings about him.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
You’re entitled to your feelings. You will also receive the benefits from the President’s re-election. @MistyCee
@jackjjackson Thank you. I'm not holding my breath on the cost/benefit thing.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Have I steered you wrong yet? @MistyCee
