How can we tackle environmental concerns?

Without mentioning political parties or politicians, what are some solutions we can put into use for our growing environmental concerns? Since they affect all of us and our future generations, its important that we think of solutions outside what any media source feeds us.

Make China and India stop polluting the oceans.

@SW-User How would they be accomplished?

@Wendy33 Don't know. But there's a couple billion people dumping trash into the oceans around Asia. So I'd like to see someone address that instead of telling me to just recycle soda bottles or something.

@SW-User As much as I'd love to shake my finger at them and say "stop that" I doubt it would work. What we can do here is set the example and slow the pollution to our own shores. Just because someone else is an ass-hat, doesn't mean we have to be.

@Wendy33 The West isn't creating hardly any pollution at all. Most of it is coming from China and India, where they have almost no environmental or manufacturing regulations. There are pictures online of rivers in China that run red with toxic waste like dyes and heavy metals. The US hasn't had issues like that since the 70s at the latest.

@SW-User We both know the West is still doing our part to destroy our environment. It may be in different ways, but we're still guilty. This isn't something we can point our finger at someone else and say "but they're doing it too." Hopefully we can come up with some creative, realistic solutions we as every day people can do.

@Wendy33 Yeah, no. You're simply wrong here.

@SW-User I see that I cannot change your mind here. Sadly, the finger-pointing approach seems to be very common.

@Wendy33 It's completely justified when someone is actually doing something wrong.
