I'd probably be against it. An AR-15 isn't really much when you look at the specifications. The most dangerous ones are illegally modified anyhow. And while some people know this, "AR" doesn't stand for "assault rifle." It stands for "armalite rifle," the name of the original design company.

@raysam363 I only learned what it meant recently myself. I thought it meant Amateur Rifle because it wasn’t a real military rifle.

@SimplyTracie Took me a while to learn as well, but it is an interesting little fact.

@raysam363 Yeah it is.

@raysam363 The most dangerous modifications in this context are high capacity magazines. Those are legal.
raysam363 · 31-35, F
@QuixoticSoul The most dangerous would be altering the gun for automatic fire rate. Large magazines aren't necessary however.

@raysam363 Nah. That's for suppression on the battlefield. Aimed semi-auto fire is far more efficient at killing people.

@QuixoticSoul What the military version of the AR15 called? They have an automatic version. Correct?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SimplyTracie M-4, which has largely replaced the M-16.

Comes in a three round burst and full auto variants. But soldiers are kind of encouraged to keep it in semi-auto mode most of the time.

@QuixoticSoul Ohhh Thank you 😊
