look the thing with guns, it's not the gun itself, there aren't good psychiatric evaluations or help for the people, since it's a more capitalistic way to approach health in the U.S. with a better health system, and more affordable, people who has troubles, will deal better with their emotions and feelings than just going on rampage, you can see it, in other countries that has the same amount of guns.

@Dancingxghost I seriously doubt there is another country with the same amount of guns as the US. But that’s another story.

@SimplyTracie Canada..big hunters..
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dancingxghost I stand corrected. Thank you. I always thought we had the most guns by a huge margin.

@SimplyTracie The U.S. might have more guns, but New Zealand and Switzerland have a greater percentage of homes that own guns than the U.S.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@DallasCowboysFan That’s even harder to swallow. NZ has such a small population compared to us. You’re saying that just about every NZ household has a gun.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie and they also have a better health care.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dancingxghost Yeah. That too.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie I still think it's not about the gun. I'm not trying to convince you just trying to explain my point.

@SimplyTracie Switzerland actually has substantially less guns than the US, but its gun ownership rate is very high by European standards. Most guns out in households are actually service weapons stored by reservists, with a sealed supply of ammunition. Still, there is quite a lot of sport shooting and the Swiss have a strong gun culture, albeit one very different from US - the Swiss mainly keep weapons for sport and defense of the country, not because of some revolutionary wet dreams, or even personal protection.

They also have very strict gun control in comparison with the US, which drastically limits access to weapons and ammunition by those that shouldn't have them.

@Dancingxghost Are you saying that if we had better healthcare, there would be less killings? I can see that.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie yeah people with mental health issues owning a gun and not getting the help they need, it ain't a good a combination.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@QuixoticSoul Actually, they no longer have trhe sealed ammo. It's now stored only at supply depots.
