Liberalism is about normalizing the right wing and passifying the masses. This has been proven repeatedly by history.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow how so

@SW-User Well there are alot of factors. Chris Hedges does a brilliant bit on it in his book and speeches on "Death of the Liberal Class".
Basically liberals are the radical center. When the right makes extreme demands they always seek a compromise. The problem is the compromise is by definition always to the right of the starting point. If you are going off a cliff it does not really matter if you do it fast or slowly.
They also are the masters of the moral equivalency and giving each side the same treatment. Karl Schmitt who later became a nazi himself warned that the fascists would use liberal values like free speech as a tool to destroy the liberal democracy. Also historically when the shit hit the fan they often side with the fascists not the people. They usually stop supporting the people when there is more then an election to lose.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow that does not sound like classic liberalism but thanks for your erudition. I appreciate it.
