It looks like Bishop won in NC-9, but by less than 1%. Keep in mind that this is a very conservative district, that hasn't elected a Democrat to the House since the 1960s, and went solidly for Trump in 2016. Bishop should have won by a landslide, not a squeaker. If a Republican barely wins here, they're going to lose in the actual swing districts. I predict more Republican congressmen will announce their retirements soon.

I’m not so sure ... the libs really wanted that one ... so they could claim to predict the 2020 presidential election and have some momentum .., and didn’t get it . And you have to assume they were up to their usual old tricks of election fraud ... so this win for conservatives is huge! The president’s coat tails are still very powerful !

@TexChik The Republicans pulled out all the stops here. The president won’t be able to visit every swing district to campaign the day before the election. Plus, this was a special election and Democrats tend to skip those. Bishop should have won by at least ten points here, and he won by less than one.

You might not be worried, but Republican strategists are. Any district where the Republicans lead by less than ten points is in play.

By the way, the reason there was a special election was because of [i]Republican[/i] election fraud requiring a do-over.

Bishop won by a hair in a heavily Republican district. That can’t be denied either. Democrats won big in 2028 and there is no reason to think that won’t be repeated in 2020.
