Why Trump Is A Great Man

Ben Stein is a long time actor and economist. He did not support Donald Trump in the 2014 primaries but has come to see him for he great man he is.

His wife is dying of the illnesses that comes with old age. But he wrote this beauiful ode not just to America but also to the President who more than many other Americans attack simply because he loves his country.

These are not my words but his, though I wish I had been fluent enough to have written them.

“Please bless every man and woman who has ever stood up and fought for decency and freedom for humanity from the Revolution to the Civil War and every man who fought in the alleys of Cologne against the Nazis and in the alleys of South Central against the immigrant murderers. And every woman who endures the evil pain of childbirth to keep the human race going. And God bless Churchill and Eisenhower and Nixon — the Peacemaker — and FDR and God bless Trump, who is a true hero.

I should tell you that I pray for Trump because he believes in America. He wants an America true to its founding ideals of liberty and free enterprise. I also pray for him because he’s been the victim of the most consistent, slimiest hate campaign since Abraham Lincoln. He hasn’t done anything seriously wrong and yet the media powers treat him as if he were John Wilkes Booth. I don’t like his tariff fights with China but they’ve been robbing us blind in terms of technology for decades now. For the Chinese, there is no stopping point between now and them ruling the earth.

So for this and for many other reasons, I pray for him. I am an economist — student of the allocation of scarce goods — and the scarcest commodity on earth is human dignity. I think Trump gets it. The Chinese who are busy suffocating the earth don’t get it. I pray for them to understand that if they kill the earth, that includes them. If Trump can slow them down, he’s the ultimate environmentalist."

Pulling America out of the Paris accord and rolling back climate change legislation might speak of free enterprise (or scorched earth capitalism, in this case) but it's not really the mark of an "ultimate environmentalist".

It is possible to do both by, say, funding Hyperloop and battery research, cleaning up, and selling it to the world. When you've fucked off your scientists to such a dramatic extent, though, by silencing their research and calling them all liars, it's not surprising that they take their skills to other countries. Especially Chinese-American researchers who are being targetted by a repressive regime.

@jomsimYou know of course that the Paris climate accords targeted the USA and the West but exempted China and India, the two greatest polluters on earth? Do you know you actually KNOW what you are talking about?

And if you think you do take a vacation in Peking for a week then get back to me.

@Abrienda Do you get your "news" from Breitbart?
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@jomsim Do you get yours from CNN? What childish reply. Stop being so immature and actually read the document you supposedly are taking about and the exemptions provide both India and China.

And are you disputing China is the greatest polluter on the planet? If you are then you really are too uninformed to argue this subject with.

I refer you to this report by Reuters (if you never heard of one of the oldest news services in the world then Google it) and Statista on China and India's pollution of the oceans.

Now grow up and learn to make your arguments like a man, little boy.

Who are the world's biggest polluters?

1: China is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in the world, according to the most recent data from the Global Carbon Project. China emits about 10,357 million metric tons per year. REUTERS/Jason Lee

2: The United States is second, with about 5,414 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson

3: India emits about 2,274 millions.

Countries Polluting The Oceans The Most
by
Niall McCarthy,

A team of researchers in the United States and Australia led by Jenna Jambeck, an environmental engineer at the University of Georgia, analyzed plastic waste levels in the world's oceans. They found that China and Indonesia are the top sources of plastic bottles, bags and other rubbish clogging up global sea lanes. Together, both nations account for more than a third of plastic detritus in global waters, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The original source data can be found here.

In 2010, 8.8 million metric tons of mismanaged plastic waste came from China with an estimated 3.53 million metric tons of it ending up in the ocean. A total of 3.2 million metric tons of mismanaged plastic waste came from Indonesia and it is estimated that 1.29 million metric tons became plastic marine debris. The United States is also guilty of polluting oceans with plastic, but at a much lower level than China. Annually, 0.11 million metric tons of waterborne plastic garbage comes from the United States.

Originally this infographic incorrectly labeled the total amount of mismanaged plastic waste as the amount found in the water. It is now been updated to show the total amount of mismanaged plastic waste and the total amount of plastic marine debris.

@Abrienda So you expect a country that has had the world's largest population to produce less pollution than one a four times smaller population? How does that work? You must see that people are a source of pollution, yes? Have a look at per capita figures for pollution and greenhouse gases.

I know I've said this before, but lacing your replies with invective doesn't make you look powerful. It makes you look desperate. People in strong positions don't need to act like that.

@jomsim
Oh I see...your snarky comment about Breibart, of course, is not covered by your sanctimonious comment to me, correct? And as I have written before deeply insecure people like INCELS resort to criticizing others for their own failings. In other words you are a hypocrite.

Have you ever been to China...or anywhere outside your hometown? Are you advocating that Americans or the West in general should live the same squalid life most Chinese do? Would you volunteer to do it to "save the planet? No course you wouldn't.

Certainly households during Upper Paleolithic Europe emitted less "pollution" than Chinese households of today. So by your using "per capita" while failing to include the SECOND part- what is PRODUCED by that consumption -you are making an intentionally false argument. If today there were two billion people living at that level in a particular country in the world would you then blame the Chinese for overconsumption?

Arguing facts or logical conclusion is not what you are about. You are one of those "I hate the West cause what the Pilgrims did to the Indians" Americans or Westerners furiously typing out their nonsense and making felt-pen protest posters in their ACed apartments while wanting to shut them off for others so they can feel better about themselves. Its a kind of perverse
narcissistic self-hatred only superfluous people in a decadent society can afford to enjoy... until your parent's money runs out.

@Abrienda There are all kinds of assumptions in there that are patently untrue, but we've had these kinds of discussions before and more and more stuff just gets made up each time. I'm not sure you're actually serious.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@jomsim And I don't think you how to be. If you were serious you would have disputed my facts with your own instead of "assuming" I got it from somewhere I didn't - though I don't remember before Christ died He making you the sole authority on what is legitimate sourcing or not.

Making assumptions? No I think I am spot about you based on my previous unpleasant experiences with you where you showed the same childish self-loving/self loathing behavior. Pathetic...and as I pint out and you could see if you were not dishonest with yourself you did the same with me and first

I am tired of you...you are a bore. Make the next comment directly related to the thread or have it deleted.
jomsim · 26-30, M
@Abrienda Are you now denying free speech and applying your own censorship? Delete everything if you want.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@jomsim Harassment is not free speech. Trolling is not free speech. Nor am I "denying him the right to speak" anywhere else he wants....but I don't have to provide him a platform for harassment and trolling, understood?

And the same applies to you.

Now grow up.
jomsim · 26-30, M
@Abrienda I think free speech allows people state their opinions and whether what you say is seen as harassment is subjective. Personally, I don't think you're harassing me, whether you are trying to or not. If anything, it just looks like unresolved sexual tension. Perhaps on both sides. I have such a crush on you!
