Good week.

[quote]President Donald Trump repeatedly threatened to release ISIS fighters in Europe as a form of punishment for countries like Germany and France;

said he’s strongly considering trying to change the Constitution by executive order (it doesn’t work that way);

indicated he hasn’t ruled out trying to illegally serve more than two terms; rewrote history during comments about Russia’s expulsion from the G8 that framed the situation in the most pro-Kremlin manner possible;

and, despite five draft deferments, joked about giving himself the Medal of Honor.

Then he called himself a "chosen one" and compared himself to the King of Israel.

That was just the week up until Wednesday.

You cannot tell me this is what winning looks like.

I think we've seen a change in the Office of President since the end of the Cold War.

Without being able to make Communists an enemy the whole country can communally fear and so get behind whoever is elected President.
It seems Presidents from George Bush on have struggled to redefine what it is they're supposed to be doing these days.

@Picklebobble2 I'm not sure which Bush you are talking about P-Bobble, but didn't Bush Jr. redefined (specially foreign) american politics since the 90s?

And didn't Obama change (specially foreign) american politics again?

... I think they know what their national goals are tough. I don't think it changed that much. The recipes are just diffrent and well, the "sane" factor seems to change over time too.

@Kwek00 I was referring to Bush Snr.
For some obscure reason some like to point at Reagan as being 'the last great President'. Even though.... And Bush was just running on his coattails.

Obama had no choice in his policymaking since Bush Jnr had plunged the economy into a generations worth of debt !
