Stop listening to anything he says, especially his tweets. Stop think completely. Convince yourself that whatever is god for Donal Trump is good for the country.
Or simply move too somewhere with no internet. ( I suggest an island in Burntside Lake nw of Ely MN. ). And repeat over and over this cannot be happing.
(Sarcasm warning!!)

@monte3 Great location. Lots of islands though. Which one(s) would you recommend?

First off one under $ 1,000,000@windinhishair

@monte3 Too pricey. There are better options in Northern Ontario.

If you are familiar with Burntside we stayed at the Burntside Lodge. God is that nice!
Evert year we spend a week somewhere in the area away from all news and internet. Last year we got back to Helsinki and and the fact that the President of the United States believed Putin over his own intelligence reports and common sense. @windinhishair

@monte3 That's a rude awakening upon return. I've done a lot of long backpacking trips where I was out of touch for a week or so. One time, there was a major plane crash, but it was completely out of the news cycle by the time I got back. It was on the tenth anniversary that I finally read about it and realized that I had completely missed it.

I'll have to look up the Lodge. Sounds like my kind of place.

Some year, you might want to try Algonguin National Park in Ontario. Great place to vacation. One of the few places you'll hear wolves at night in August when the parents start leaving the pups home while hunting.

Wolves! Once at a different place we had wolves howling at each other most of the night. About the coolest thing you will ever hear.and the stars when you get away from ambient light! @windinhishair

@monte3 Wolves howling are cool. Loons calling are too. But for stars, Big Bend National Park in December takes the cake. Waking up at 1 AM because the moonset was so dark it woke me up. Spent the rest of the night watching the Geminid meteor shower until dawn. I counted over 300 before I gave up counting around 3 AM. It was amazing.

Heaven has meteor showers I am sure, 😊. Big Bend is a long way from everything isn’t it. Great description. @windinhishair

@monte3 No one ever goes to Big Bend while passing by. It is a place you have to want to go deliberately. The nearest hospital is 90 air miles away. I had my son stop there last December and enjoy the hot springs in the Rio Grande at Boquillas. He was so taken by it (as I had been a couple decades earlier) that he rearranged his trip to spend two more nights. One of the best birding spots in the country, and there are backcountry wonders that very few people have ever seen. One year, I hiked into a remote valley about four miles long and a mile wide. My backpacking buddy and I were the only people to go there that year. Great place for someone's bucket list.

Isn’t it great that in a country with so much urban culture that you go somewhere and be the only visitors for the year.
We are the same age, are you still backpacking? I will go with my son-in-law but that’s it.@windinhishair
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@monte3 I hike more now than backpack, but I still like to go to remote places like Death Valley, Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains, Gila Wilderness, etc. I agree, it is awesome to be able to enjoy wilderness that is still accessible, because most people will not go to places that require some work to get to.

Nothing wrong with going backpacking with your son in law! That's great!
