We had tried to get it as part of a package deal with Greenland and the Danish West Indies.

Denmark eventually sold us the Caribbean islands in 1917 (now the U.S. Virgin Islands.)

The funny thing is after the long process involved in changing the Danish constitution, someone would have to sell the population of Greenland on the idea.

Not so fast. We need to cut PR loose. Greenland would be a state and could even keep its name. Those who live there are offered a one time becoming a citizen payment if they are desirable. If not or if that don’t take it they get their choice of nautical destinations. @QuixoticSoul
